Résumé
A l’origine de ce mémoire, un questionnement : existe-t-il une barrière infranchissable entre la médecine orientale et la médecine occidentale au Moyen-âge ? La médecine au moyen-âge est-elle Janus : une face occidentale tournée vers le passé pétrie par les croyances et l’autre, orientale, tournée vers la science et l’avenir ? Nous avons essayé, dans cette étude, de ne pas se laisser guider par ces lieux communs mais de rechercher objectivement les informations qui confirmeront ou infirmeront ces derniers.
At the origin of this memoir, a questioning : does there exist an insuperable barrier between Eastern medicine and Western medicine with the Middle Ages ? Medicine with the Middle Ages is Janus : a western face turned towards the past kneaded by beliefs and the other, Eastern, turned towards science and the future ? We tried in this study, not to be guided by these commonplaces, but to seek objectively the information that will confirm or invalidate the latter.
